I found this in April 2009 here are my repsonses to his so called “Facts”…

Here is another lovely post by a Sabbath keeper / so called “Christian” who is more interested in agreeing with the writings of EG White or Armstrong than actually reading his or her Bible.

Here is my reply:

“FACT NUMBER ONE—The Sabbath was given to all mankind at the Creation of this world.”

The author gives us no Scriptural basis to believe that the 10 commandments were given for all men. In the Genesis creation story it is not human kind that kept Saturday. Exodus 20:1-14 disproves their theory.

 

“FACT NUMBER TWO—The Sabbath is a memorial of Creation and our salvation.”

How is keeping a day ‘Saving’ gentiles who are actually breaking Gods Sabbath reserved for the ancient Israelis?

Since they quote:

“It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day He rested, and was refreshed.”—Exodus 31:17.

The author of this article seems to mistakenly assume they are of Jewish back ground and neglect Jesus Christ.

Also note that in believing in Jesus we are saved through him not keeping a specific day of worship.

“FACT NUMBER THREE—The people of God kept the Bible Sabbath before the Ten Commandments were given at Mount Sinai.”

Again more deception from this author when he writes:

“There are those who say that the seventh-day Sabbath was not commanded by God, nor kept by man before it was spoken from Mount Sinai in Exodus 20. But Genesis 2:1-3 and Exodus 16 prove otherwise.”

Adam didn’t keep the Sabbath according to the text shown here it was God ALONE who kept Sabbath. (Genesis 2:1-3)

By Exodus 16:1-36 We find that only the Israelites were to keep Sabbath.

and Exodus 20:1-26 We find that God gave the 10 commandments to the peoples of Moses not the Gentile.

“FACT NUMBER FOUR—The seventh-day Sabbath Commandment lies in the very heart of the Moral Law of Ten Commandments.”

As human beings we have already broken all of the 10 commandments. Allow me to use the words of Christ against them. See Matthew 5:18-48.

In Jesus monolog he quotes the following commandments:

Thou shalt not kill

Thou shalt not commit adultery

Divorce

Thou shalt not forswear thyself but perform unto the Lord thine oaths

An eye for an eye

But nothing on making Saturday Sabbath a burden to the gentile.

“FACT NUMBER FIVE—The weekly seventh-day Sabbath is part of the Moral Law contained in the Ten Commandments. It will stand forever. The yearly Sabbaths were part of the ceremonial laws that prefigured, or foreshadowed, the death and ministry of Christ.”

In the year 2009 how is the ‘moral law’ being followed by the creation? Take a good look at American society and even the Christian church.

To follow the 10 commandments is rejecting the very mercy of God. I’m sure the author remembers this:

Romans 10:4

And why is the 10 commandments for forever? After all according to:

Galatians 2:11-21

Galatians 3:10-14

Galatians 3:18-25

Galatians 5:1-5, 13-18

Following the law of Moses VS Grace…

Ephesians 2:15-20  They were abolished.

As shocking as this will be the Disciples were the first to tell Gentile Christians that they didn’t need to keep the 10 commandments.

See: Acts 15:23-29

“FACT NUMBER SIX—Christ’s disciples faithfully kept the Bible Sabbath, not Sunday.”

True… Not because of a specific day change but because Jesus disciples were Jewish.

But can any SDA member tell us in Matthew, Mark, Luke or John show us in the word that Christian Gentiles must keep Saturday Sabbath? No of course not. They get that doctrine from EG White. As I mentioned above I used Acts 15:1-41 to show the Guidelines for Gentile Christians. These guidelines include not worrying about Sabbath or the old Jewish law.

“FACT NUMBER SEVEN—According to the New Testament, the Apostles of Jesus always kept the Bible Sabbath.”

True…

And yet there is NO Commandment from Jesus or the Disciples to keep Saturday Sabbath.

“FACT NUMBER EIGHT—God predicted in Scripture that men would later try to change the Law of God—and especially the “time law.”

Really? Which Scripture?

According to the author;

“And he [the little horn power] shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into His hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.”—Daniel 7:25.”

The assumption of the author is that it is the Roman Catholic Church. But the above Scripture could mean a number of Theocratic leaders.

“FACT NUMBER NINE—The seventh-day Sabbath, instituted by God at the Creation of this world, is the seal of His governmental authority.”

Unfortunately the ‘SEAL’ of authority seemingly has nothing to do with a Saturday Sabbath. A few examples of Gods seal is:

Ephesians 1:12

Ephesians 4:30

“FACT NUMBER TEN—God’s remnant people will keep the Bible Sabbath, and that holy day will be kept throughout eternity.”

That is not a fact but an assumption.

The author continues his fantasy by using the following Scriptures :

“And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”—Revelation 12:17.”

“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”—Revelation 14:12.”

Does the author really mean those who keep the 10 commandments? Let’s find out…

According to the Dake annotated reference Bible we find the following note.

“Satan wars on the Jewish remnant who do not flee Judah… Revelation 12:17.”

As I was re-reading Revelation 12:1-17 our Spiritual ancestors were the Jewish believers during the early church. I suggest that this Scripture is about them.

Lets look at Revelation 14:12

When we look at verse 12 the SDA author wants his readers to think that he only means the SDA church. But here are a few problems with his assumption. Revelation 14:1 “And I looked and lo a Lamb stood on the mount Sion and with him an hundred forty and four thousand having his Fathers name written on their foreheads.” Where does that come from Revelation 7:1-17 that’s where.

When we read Revelation 7:1-17 We find who the 144,000 is…

Hmmm no Gentile Christians there…

Hmmmm it would appear to me that this SDA authors considers himself a Jew and not a Christian.

I will reintegrate that the so called “FACTS” written by the author of the above post or article are not verified facts but his OPINION. He should really re-think his post and the doctrine he follows because he is not following Biblical Christianity but the writings of EG White or some other ‘Sabbath keeper christian’.
