“Oso Strong” a reminder of Gods grace and love despite environmental disasters.

3-30-2014

In Church today we heard from various individuals who are working as recovery / searchers of landslide victims outside the town of Oso Washington. While I am not acquainted personally with these men I understand their desire for service and for wanting to show Gods love to the hurting.

The last speaker at Church today was one of several men that raised a American flag over the disaster scene on a Cedar tree. He was also the man that recited the Lords Prayer. You can read it here:

(KJV) Matthew 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Here is why this is important.

Despite the disaster, death, horror of seeing dead victims these three towns of Arlington, Oso and Darrington have combined forces not only at a secular and Federal level but in the Spirit of Unity of Christian churches to assist all persons affected by that slide.

When Christians unite under a specific banner Grand and Beautiful things happen for the benefit of people but also for Gods Kingdom.

May God continue to grant Oso mercy.

May God help heal the broken and suffering in Oso.

May God use his Church in all three communities Arlington, Oso and Darrington WA to assist those affected but also to bring the lost to Christ in those communities.

May we Christians in the USA and worldwide reach out to ALL of our cities and towns to bring the lost to Jesus and to add new believers to Gods Kingdom!
