The PROBLEM with following the Ten Commandments as Gentile Christians

This is my amateur reminder to those SDA / Theonomist Commandments keepers on what they must do to those who break the Ten Commandments. This goes for both Christians, Jews and other non believers. These punishments as recorded in the Old Testament Scriptures are a horrifying warning of mans inhumanity to towards both believers and non believers.

The Ten Commandments are listed as:

Exodus 20:1-17

Exodus 34:1-35

Deuteronomy 5:1-22

Lets list the Ten Commandments and their PUNISHMENTS:

No other Gods before me Exodus 20:3:

Deuteronomy 13:1-18

Deuteronomy 17:1-5

Exodus 22:20

You shall not make for yourself a carved image Exodus 20:4:

Deuteronomy 7:25

Deuteronomy 27:15

You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain. Exodus 20:7

Lev 24:10-23

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy Exodus 20:8

Exodus 31:12-18

Lev 23:1-44

Numbers 15:32-41

Honor your father and your mother Exodus 20:12

Ex 21:15-17

Lev 20:9

You shall not murder. Exodus 20:13

Exodus 21:14

Deut 19:10-13

You shall not commit adultery. Exodus 20:14

Ex 22: 16-17

Lev 19:20

Lev 20:10-21

Deuteronomy 27:20-23

You shall not steal. Exodus 20:15

Exodus 22:1-11

Ex 23:1

Lev 18:29

Deut 19:17-19

You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.” Exodus 20:17

What is Covet?

When we look at the definition of Covet we find:

“Main Entry: cov·et”

“Pronunciation: \ˈkə-vət\”

“Function: verb”

“Etymology: Middle English coveiten, from Anglo-French coveiter, from Vulgar Latin *cupidietare, from Latin cupiditat-, cupiditas desire, from cupidus desirous, from cupere to desire”

“Date: 14th century transitive verb”

“ 1 : to wish for earnestly <covet an award>”

“2 : to desire (what belongs to another) inordinately or culpably”

Jesus listed Covetousness under Adultery. See:

Matthew 5:27-32

These are similar posts by two atheist authors who highlight a similar argument. However they don’t finish the entirety of the Ten Commandments.

Obey Thy Ten Commandments, Or Else

Follow The Commandments Or Else!

And of course what God did to those ancient Israelites for their sins against him.

Gods Punishments for disobedience:

Leviticus 26:14-39

In conclusion:

If SDA Christians continue in this delusion that they must keep the original commandments as a form of morality without Grace they can expect no mercy from God. Because everyone can read what God did to the peoples of Moses for 40 years how much more can God do to those choosing to reject Christ and go back to the old Covenant.

Galatians 2:16-21

If SDA Christians (A term I use loosely) actually used the punishments Moses used on those Commandment breakers they would no longer be considered to be part of the Christian church but a murderous cult. Something to consider….
