My response to rives mass email rant ‘No Such Commandment’

Last week I got the following email from rives company. This is my reply to such a farse…

“No Such Commandment”

“The New Testament defines sin as the transgression of the law. While that is a very simple statement there is a great deal of confusion as to what it really means. “

“The Torah, the first five books of the Old Testament contains many laws. According to Maimonides and Rabbinic Judaism there are 613 of them. The question arises: As believers in Yeshua, Jesus Christ, are we subject to all of those laws? Based on the New Testament, the answer is no. Approximately two thirds of those laws are associated with animal sacrifice, are gender specific, or relate to requirements as defined by a Levitical priesthood. “

“A good example is circumcision. In Exodus Chapter 12 we learn that those who wanted to observe the ordinance of passover were required to be circumcised. No uncircumcised person shall eat thereof. One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you. Based on what we read, there is no doubt that circumcision was a specific requirement of Torah. But now lets look at the New Testament: In Acts chapter 15 we read of Pharisees who demanded that believers be circumcised. They said: Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved. Well, after a meeting of the apostles and elders inJerusalem, a letter was written to Gentiles living inAntioch,Syria, andCilicia. That letter makes it plain that circumcision is not a prerequisite for salvation. – – – – “For as much as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:” The book of First Corinthians makes it plain: Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised. “

“Today, there are those who would teach us that believers must be fully Torah observant. Still others would teach us that – no, we live in an age of grace and are not subject to the law. Based on the example of circumcision, it is easy to see how both groups of people could arrive at two totally different conclusions and there are a lot of good Christian people who are simply confused – the results of thousands of years of theological rambling. Time is the Ally of Deceit. “

“So, how can the teachings of the Old and New Testaments regarding the law be reconciled? “

“Here’s how.  There is a difference between The Ten Commandments that were placed inside the Ark of the Covenant and the laws associated with the Levitical priesthood – the book of the law of Moses that was placed without. Under the priesthood of Aaron – the Levitical priesthood, circumcision was a specific requirement. As believers, our High priest is Yeshua, Jesus Christ and under His priesthood there has been a change in the Levitical law. “

“The Ten Commandments on the other hand will never change. They were written in stone. “

======================================

As usual rives has got Jesus teachings wrong.

My question for the Theonomist like rives is…

“Where did Jesus Command in the Gospels the Ten Commandments for Jew or Gentile?”

Answer:

No where.

In fact Jesus taught that out of 613 of the Theocratic laws of Moses two were the most important.

The Greatest Commandments of the Law of Moses spoken by Jesus:

Matthew 22:36-40

Mark 12:29-31

Luke 10:25-28

==================================

Even the Disciples recognized that this Theonomist philosophy was not the Teaching Jesus gave them.

Examples:

Romans 8:1-6

Romans 13:8-10

Galatians 3:10-25

Galatians 5:13-18

===================================

Did Jesus require the Ten Commandments for his followers?

According to:

Matthew 5:17-48

Jesus teaching did not specify all of those Commandments. The ‘rives’ of this world are not following Jesus as God. They are following their own flawed systems… Into hell…
