Porn as adultery

Before I begin this post I recognize that many in the West struggle with porn addiction. This post of mine is a attempt to remind my fellows that we are called to a higher state of purity than this world we live in.

Matthew 5:27-30 (King James Version)

” 27Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:”

” 28But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. “

” 29And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.”

“30And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.”

As you can read Jesus gave his followers (Christians) a higher moral standard than those he grew up with. Porn, prostitution and perversion believe it or not existed during the time of Christ just as badly as today. Although many critics look at the above scriptures and laughingly suggest that a Christian is to harm themselves. Jesus in reality meant to throw away those lusts that are causing a Christian to stumble.

Jesus required his followers to completely forgo our lusts and desire to fornicate in order to be pure in body and spirit.

Sadly we all know of our fellow Christians who struggle with internet porn, fornication, masturbation and more. It’s time for the Church to help both Christian and non Christian to battle their addictions to internet porn and sex addiction.
