My response to: “Sixty Bible Facts Concerning The Seventh Day”

As we shall see this author is a member of the SDA Theonomy movement. And believes that the Ten Commandments and Sabbath are for him to keep. Here are his list of ‘facts’.

==================================

“Sixty Bible Facts Concerning The Seventh Day”

“1 After working the first six days of the week in creating this earth, the great God rested on the seventh day. Genesis 2:1-3 “

“2 This stamped that day as God’s rest, or Sabbath day, as Sabbath day means rest day. To illustrate: When a person is born on a certain day, that day thus becomes his birthday. So when God rested upon the seventh day, that day became His rest, or Sabbath day. “

“3 Therefore the seventh day must always be God’s Sabbath day. Can you change your birthday from the day on which you were born, to one on which you were not born? No. Neither can you change God’s rest day to a day on which He did not rest or ended his work. Hence the seventh day is still God’s Sabbath day. “

“4 The Creator blessed the seventh day. Genesis 2:3 “

“5 He sanctified the seventh day. Exodus 20:11. “

“6 He made it the Sabbath day in the garden of Eden. Genesis 2:1-3 “

“7 It was made before the fall; hence it is not a type; for types were not introduced till after the fall. “

“8 Jesus says it was made for man (Mark 2:27); that is, for the race, as the word man is here unlimited; hence, for the Gentile as well as for the Jews. “

“9 It is a memorial of creation. Exodus 20:11; 31:17. Every time we rest upon the seventh day, as God did at creation, we commemorate that grand event. “

“10 It was given to Adam, that head of the human race. Mark 2:27; Genesis 2:1-3. “

“11 Hence through him, as our representative, to all nations. Acts 17:26. “

“12 It is not a Jewish institution; for it was made 2300 years before ever there was a Jew. “

“13 The Bible never calls it the Jewish Sabbath; but always, ‘the Sabbath of the Lord thy God.’ Men should be cautious how they stigmatize God’s holy rest day. “

“14 Evident reference is made to the Sabbath all through the patriarchal age. Genesis 2:1-3; 8:10, 12; 29:27, 28 etc. “

“15 It was a part of God’s law before Sinai. Exodus 16:4, 27-29.”

“16 Then God placed it in the heart of His moral law. Exodus 20:1-17. Why did the place it there if it was not like the other nine precepts, which all admit to be immutable?”

“17 The seventh-day Sabbath was commanded by the voice of the living God. Deuteronomy 4:12, 13. “

“18 Then He wrote the commandment with His own finger. Exodus 31:18. “

“19 He engraved it in the enduring stone, indicating its imperishable nature. Deuteronomy 5:22. “

“20 It was sacredly preserved in the ark in the holy of holies. Deuteronomy 10:1-5. “

“21 God forbade work upon the Sabbath, even in the most hurrying times. Exodus 34:21. “

“22 God destroyed the Israelites in the wilderness because they profaned the Sabbath. Ezekiel 20:12, 13. “

“23 It is the sign of the true God, by which we are to know Him from false gods. Ezekiel 20:20. “

“24 God promised that Jerusalem should stand forever if the Jews would keep the Sabbath. Jeremiah 17:24, 25. “

“25 He sent them into Babylon-ish captivity for breaking it. Nehemiah 13:18. “

“26 He destroyed Jerusalem for its violation. Jeremiah 17:27. “

“27 God has pronounced a special blessing on all the Gentiles who will keep it. Isaiah 56:6, 7. “

“28 This is in the prophecy which refers wholly to the Christian dispensation. See Isaiah 56. “

“29 God has promised to bless any man who will keep the Sabbath. Isaiah 56:2. “

“30 The Lord requires us to call it ‘honorable.’ Isaiah 58:13. Beware, ye who take delight in calling it the ‘old Jewish Sabbath,’ ‘a yoke of bondage,’ etc. “

“31 After the holy Sabbath has been trodden down ‘many generations,’ it is to be restored in the last days. Isaiah 58:12, 13. “

“32 All the holy prophets kept the seventh day. “

“33 When the Son of God came, He kept the seventh day all His life. Luke 4:16; John 15:10. Thus He followed His Father’s example at creation. Shall we not be safe in following the example of both the Father and the Son? “

“34 The seventh day is the Lord’s day. See Revelation 1:10; Mark 2:28; Isaiah 58:13; Exodus 20:10. “

“35 Jesus was Lord of the Sabbath (Mark 2:28); that is, to love and protect it, as the husband is the lord of the wife, to love and cherish here. 1 Peter 3:6. “

“36 He vindicated the Sabbath as a merciful institution designed for man’s good. Mark 2:23-28. “

“37 Instead of abolishing the Sabbath, He carefully taught how it should be observed. Matthew 12:1-13. “

“38 He taught His disciples that they should do nothing upon the Sabbath day but what was ‘lawful.’ Matthew 12:12. “

“39 He instructed His apostles that the Sabbath should be prayerfully regarded 40 years after His resurrection. Matthew 24:20. “

“40 The pious women who had been with Jesus carefully kept the seventh day after His death. Luke 23:56. “

“41 Thirty years after Christ’s resurrection, the Holy Spirit expressly calls it ‘the Sabbath day.’ Acts 13:14. “

“42 Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, called it ‘the Sabbath day’ in A. D. 45. Acts 13:27. Did not Paul know? Or shall we believe modern teachers, who affirm that it ceased to be the Sabbath at the resurrection of Christ? “

“43 Luke, the inspired Christian historian, writing as late as A. D. 62, calls it ‘the Sabbath day.’ Acts 13:44. “

“44 The Gentile converts called it the Sabbath. Acts 13:42. “

“45 In the great Christian council. A D. 52, in the presence of the apostles and thousands of disciples, James calls it the “Sabbath day.” Acts 15:21. “

“46 It was customary to hold prayer meetings upon the day. Acts 16:13. “

“47 Paul read the scriptures in public meetings on that day. Acts 17:2, 3. “

“48 It was his custom to preach upon that day. Acts 17:2. “

“49 The book of Acts alone gives a record of his holding eighty-four meetings upon that day. See Acts 13:14, 44; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4, 11. “

“50 There was never any dispute between the Christians and the Jews about the Sabbath day. This is proof that the Christians still observed the same day that the Jews did. “

“51 In all their accusations against Paul, they never charged him with disregarding the Sabbath day. Why did they not, if he did not keep it? “

“52 But Paul himself expressly declared that he had kept the law. ‘Neither against the law of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Caesar, have I offended any thing at all.’ Acts 25:8. How could this be true if he had not kept the Sabbath? “

“53 The Sabbath is mentioned in the New Testament 59 times, and always with respect, bearing the same title it had in the Old Testament, ‘the Sabbath day.’ “

“54 Not a word is said anywhere in the New Testament about the Sabbath’s being abolished, done way, changed, or anything of the kind. “

“55 God has never given permission to any man to work upon it. Reader, by what authority do you use the seventh day for common labor? “

“56 No Christian of the New Testament, either before or after the resurrection ever did ordinary work upon the seventh day. Find one case of that kind, and we will yield the question. Why should modern Christians do differently from Bible Christians? “

“57 There is no record that God has ever removed His blessing or sanctification from the Seventh day. “

“58 As the Sabbath was kept in Eden before the fall, so it will be observed eternally in the new earth after the restitution. Isaiah 66:22, 23. “

“59 The seventh-day Sabbath was an important part of the law of God, as it came from His own mouth, and was written by His own finger upon stone at Sinai. See Exodus 20. When Jesus began His work, He expressly declared that He had not come to destroy the law. “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets.” Matthew 5:17. “

“60 Jesus severely condemned the Pharisees as hypocrites for pretending to love God, while at the same time they made void one of the Ten Commandments by their tradition. The keeping of Sunday is only a tradition of men. “

“Here you now have 60 plain Bible facts presented to you concerning the seventh day. What will you do with them?”

==========================================================

Points to consider about this authors ‘fact’ list:

1 The author of these ‘facts’ uses a lot of repetition of various Scriptures that come from the Old Testament in order to prove that the Law of Moses should be used by the Christian church.

2 The philosophy or Theology behind these ideas is called Theonomy. The basic idea behind Theonomy is to place the Christian church under the Law of Moses. In doing so these Christian Theonomists prefer to live under OT Laws instead of Jesus Grace.

3 Much of what this author has written are not facts. But his opinion which he considers facts.

4 I shall attempt to correct his ‘facts’ with a counter argument why his ideas are wrong.

======================================

Allow me to counter the above authors list of ‘facts’ with information from the Bible.

1 Genesis 2:1-3 only means that God rested on Saturday or the Seventh day. He DID NOT Command it as a day of rest for creation.

———————————–

2 Again where is the COMMANDMENT that God required his human creation to rest on Saturday? It is not included in Genesis 2:1-3.

———————————–

3 Yes we can agree that God rested on the seventh day. Genesis 2:1-3. He did not command his human creation to keep the seventh day…

————————————-

4 Ok, so God blessed the Seventh day. Genesis 2:1-3 it still doesn’t mean that God will refuse Christian worship on Sunday.

———————————

5 When we turn to Exodus 20:8-11 The beginning of the Law of Moses these Commandments are for Israel. Does this SDA author claim to be part of Israel and a individual under the Theocratic laws of Judaism?

——————————-

6 Yes God rested on the ‘Seventh day” but this author still cannot find the COMMANDMENTS for ALL PEOPLE to keep the Sabbath.

——————————————–

7 What this author is doing is trying to place the Israeli or Jewish  Sabbath upon themselves because after all Sunday according their ‘prophet’ EG White is a catholic rest day. And all those who keep Sunday are ‘marked with the mark of the beast’.

Still despite his claims there is STILL NO COMMANDMENTS from God for gentiles to keep Sabbath.

————————————–

8 Lets turn in our Bibles to Mark 2:1-28. (Mark 2:23-28…)

Jesus is correcting the Pharisees on the Sabbath. Now logically if Jesus is referring for both Israeli Jew and Gentile to keep the Sabbath then we should have that teaching. But Jesus doesn’t do that he is simply teaching his follow Jews about their day of rest.

—————————————

9 Lets look at Exodus 20:11… Or more specifically Exodus 20:8-11 and Exodus 31:12-18.

Exodus 20:8-11 Sabbath is for who? Those Israelis who left Egypt. Next as we look at Exodus 31:16-17.The Sabbath was for who? (KJV) “Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations for a perpetual Covenant. It is a SIGN between me and THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL for ever. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth and on the Seventh day he rested and was refreshed.”

As usual the Theonomy philosophy has poisoned this authors article and his mind.

———————————

10 Was Adam given the Sabbath? Let’s look at the Scriptures listed. “Mark 2:27; Genesis 2:1-3.”

First: Genesis 2:1-3… God rested on the Sabbath day.

Genesis 2:7-8 God made Adam.

Genesis 2:15-17 God teaches Adam to care for Eden.

Genesis 2:18-25 God makes Eve and gives her to Adam as his mate and helper.

Genesis 3:1-24

Genesis 4:1-26

Genesis 5:1-32

As any Christian can read in our Bible God did not give Adam the Sabbath Commandment.

Next: When we look up Mark 2:27 As already pointed out this SDA author is using philosophy alone to ‘prove’ keeping the Sabbath. This SDA author still cannot prove that Christ required his Gentile followers to keep Sabbath.

——————————–

11 Let’s look at: “Acts 17:26”…

When we actually look at the Scripture we find. Acts 17:1-34 Paul is preaching to the Thessalonians’. He is not giving Sabbath Commandments.

—————————————

12 That’s not a fact but a statement. And a really bad lie. Saturday Sabbath was for the Israeli alone see Exodus 20:8-11 and Exodus 31:12-18.

——————————–

13 Another lie: See Exodus 20:8-11 and Exodus 31:12-18. Christians are still not Israel.

———————————–

14 Yes more lies. Let’s review his ‘evidence’.

Genesis 2:1-3

Genesis 8:10,

Genesis 29:27, 28 etc.

When we look at the references posted by this author we find the following.

Genesis 2:1-3 No Sabbath Commandment

Genesis 8:10 No reference to Sabbath

Genesis 29:27, 28 No reference to Sabbath

——————————————

15 This SDA author lists: “Exodus 16:4, 27-29”. Are this Scriptures for Christians? No of course not. Exodus 16:1-36 is part of the Torah and the history of the Israeli Jews.

———————————————–

16 As usual this Theonomist deceived SDA follower lists “Exodus 20:1-17”. So does this mean that the Christian church is now part of the Israeli Theocracy? After all The Law of Moses is 613 Commandments. Who can keeping only the first part of the Israeli law be for Christians when Jesus changed it all.

Matthew 5:17-48.

————————————

17 This SDA author lists “Deuteronomy 4:12, 13”. But what does it say…?

Deuteronomy 4:1-49 “Now therefore hearken O Israel…” Um opps this doesn’t look like its for us Christians…

———————————-

18 Whom are these for?  “Exodus 31:18”

———————————–

19 “Deuteronomy 5:22”

—————————–

20 “Deuteronomy 10:1-5”

18-20 Notice a pattern with this author? He can’t use Jesus teaching to keep the Sabbath for non sda followers so he uses Old Testament Scriptures.

——————–

21 “Exodus 34:21”

These Scriptures are part of the Jewish Torah and have little to do with Christianity.

————————–

22 Whom are these for? “Ezekiel 20:12, 13”

———————–

23 “Ezekiel 20:20”

Ezekiel 20:1-49 are a prophecy of Israel’s rebellion. How is using this Scripture for the Christian church? It Doesn’t…

——————————

24 “Jeremiah 17:24, 25”

————————————

26 “Jeremiah 17:27”

Jeremiah 17:1-27 Is another Prophecy over Israel. How does this apply to the Christian church? HINT: It Doesn’t…

———————————-

25 “Nehemiah 13:18”

Nehemiah 13:1-31 Is about the enemies of Israel expelled from Temple worship. Does this apply to the Christian Church? No it doesn’t…

—————————————–

27 “Isaiah 56:6, 7”

—————————–

28 “Isaiah 56.”

—————————————

29 “Isaiah 56:2”

I’m including all three here: 27-29. Isaiah 56:1-21 In another Prophecy over Israel. Does this SDA author assume he / the sda church is part of Israel as well? It seems to me he does.

————————————-

30 “Isaiah 58:13”

———————————-

31 “Isaiah 58:12, 13”

———————————–

30-31. Isaiah 58:1-14 Is about Israel’s false and proper worship. Again doesn’t apply to the Christian church.

—————————————-

32 “All the holy prophets kept the seventh day.”

Really where is the proof?

———————–

33 “Luke 4:16; John 15:10”

Jesus ‘”CUSTOMS” are still not Commandments.

———————————–

34 (Statement) “The seventh day is the Lord’s day. See Revelation 1:10; Mark 2:28; Isaiah 58:13; Exodus 20:10. “

Jesus resurrected on Sunday:

Matthew 28:1

Mark 16:1-2

Luke 23:56 – Luke 24:1

John 20:1

———————————–

35 “Jesus was Lord of the Sabbath (Mark 2:28); that is, to love and protect it, as the husband is the lord of the wife, to love and cherish here. 1 Peter 3:6. “

1 Peter 3:1-7 Deals with teaching of how to deal with a mans wife. Does this SDA author consider his faith, a marriage to Christ because of falsely keeping the Saturday Sabbath? Looks like it. Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. But still did not Command we gentiles to keep it.

—————————-

36 “He vindicated the Sabbath as a merciful institution designed for man’s good. Mark 2:23-28. “

Still not a Commandment…

———————————

37 Instead of abolishing the Sabbath, He carefully taught how it should be observed. Matthew 12:1-13. “

Actually Matthew 12:1-14 deals with Jesus breaking traditions that the Pharisees placed on Saturday Sabbath. But it still is not a Commandment.

———————————

38 He taught His disciples that they should do nothing upon the Sabbath day but what was ‘lawful.’ Matthew 12:12. “

Re-read that section: Matthew 12:-16. Is Moses Laws for the Gentile? WE aren’t of Israel, We are not under Israeli law or under Jewish theocratic laws and your arguments are simply repetition.

———————————–

39 He instructed His apostles that the Sabbath should be prayerfully regarded 40 years after His resurrection. Matthew 24:20. “

Wrong again. Matthew 24:1-51 are various teachings that Jesus gave the Disciples. Having Gentiles keep the Sabbath was not part of that. And it was back in the 1800s that EG White demanded you sda followers to keep the Sabbath despite the fact her ideas are continually un-Biblical and wrong.

—————————

40 “The pious women who had been with Jesus carefully kept the seventh day after His death. Luke 23:56. “

Luke 23:1-56 is the story of the death of Jesus and what his followers did after the execution. Jesus still resurrected on Sunday…  See Luke 24:1-53. And just because his early followers kept the Sabbath according to both Jewish culture and Theocratic laws does not mean we need to as well.

———————-

41 “Thirty years after Christ’s resurrection, the Holy Spirit expressly calls it ‘the Sabbath day.’ Acts 13:14. “

And? Why not just use Acts 13:1-52? The Disciples were to first speak Jesus teaching to Jews and then later to the Gentiles. As Jews the Disciples would continue in Jewish culture and traditions until their deaths.

—————————

42 “Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, called it ‘the Sabbath day’ in A. D. 45. Acts 13:27. Did not Paul know? Or shall we believe modern teachers, who affirm that it ceased to be the Sabbath at the resurrection of Christ? “

Again you are not using the full scripture. See Acts 13:1-52 gives the full story of how the Disciples preached to their fellow Jewish people. Sabbath was not given as a Commandment or a ritual, tradition that you keep as a sda member to Gentiles.

————————–

43 Luke, the inspired Christian historian, writing as late as A. D. 62, calls it ‘the Sabbath day.’ Acts 13:44. “

See Above:

——————-

44 The Gentile converts called it the Sabbath. Acts 13:42. “

In using Acts 13:1-52 This SDA author forgets that the Disciples were asked to goto Israel first and then the Gentiles. Just because the Disciples kept Sabbath there still does not show we gentiles to keep Sabbath.

——————————-

45 “In the great Christian council. A D. 52, in the presence of the apostles and thousands of disciples, James calls it the “Sabbath day.” Acts 15:21. “

According to Acts 15:1-31 The Disciples did not Command the gentiles the Law of Moses See Acts 15:23-25. The Jewish Disciples kept the Sabbath in order to bring in more Jews. But still NO Commandments for keeping the Sabbath for Gentiles.

———————–

46 “It was customary to hold prayer meetings upon the day. Acts 16:13. “

Ask yourself why that is? See Acts 16:1-40 could it be that the Disciples are doing what Jesus asked them to do by preaching to their fellow Jews and keeping his traditions? And again no Commandment by Jesus or his Disciples to keep the Law.

————————–

47 “Paul read the scriptures in public meetings on that day. Acts 17:2, 3. “

48 “It was his custom to preach upon that day. Acts 17:2. “

Let’s look at Acts 17:1-34. What is happening? It is the continuing story of how the Disciples preached to their fellow Jews all about Jesus. And they used their traditions, celebrations to convert them.

—————————————-

49 “The book of Acts alone gives a record of his holding eighty-four meetings upon that day. See Acts 13:14, 44; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4, 11. “

Just because the Disciples kept the Sabbath still doesn’t counter their letters to our Gentile ancestors in the Church See Acts 15:1-31.

—————————–

50 “There was never any dispute between the Christians and the Jews about the Sabbath day. This is proof that the Christians still observed the same day that the Jews did. “

Just because Jewish Christians kept the Sabbath still does not give any evidence or COMMANDMENTS by Jesus or the Disciples to keep that day in the 20 or 21st centuries. Only thru EG White’s writings demand that you folks do that.

———————————–

51 “In all their accusations against Paul, they never charged him with disregarding the Sabbath day. Why did they not, if he did not keep it? “

Paul as a Jew kept the Law of Moses by PERSONAL CHOICE. And you still can’t find evidence that the Sabbath was commanded for the Gentile.

——————————–

52 “But Paul himself expressly declared that he had kept the law. ‘Neither against the law of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Caesar, have I offended any thing at all.’ Acts 25:8. How could this be true if he had not kept the Sabbath? “

Actually go back… See: Acts 21:37-40, Acts 22:1-30, Acts 23:1-35, Acts 24:1-27 and Acts 25:1-27 and Acts 26:1-32. Paul is defending his Faith against those who rejected Jesus. Again no evidence of Sabbath keeping for the gentiles.

—————————

53 “The Sabbath is mentioned in the New Testament 59 times, and always with respect, bearing the same title it had in the Old Testament, ‘the Sabbath day.’ “

So what where is your evidence that Sabbath keeping is for Gentiles?

———————————-

54 “Not a word is said anywhere in the New Testament about the Sabbath’s being abolished, done way, changed, or anything of the kind. “

Here are Scriptures that indicate that Moses Law was done away with:

Acts 15:1-31, Romans 14:4-6, Romans 7:7-13, Romans 8:1-10, Romans 3:24-31, Romans 13:8-14, Hebrews 4:1-16, Hebrews 7:19, Hebrews 9:11-28, Hebrews 10:1-10

——————————-

55 “God has never given permission to any man to work upon it. Reader, by what authority do you use the seventh day for common labor? “

See here: Romans 5:1

—————————-

56 “No Christian of the New Testament, either before or after the resurrection ever did ordinary work upon the seventh day. Find one case of that kind, and we will yield the question. Why should modern Christians do differently from Bible Christians? “

Because we are not Commanded by Jesus or the Disciples to keep the Ten Commandments and the Sabbath. And we live in a modern time where the LOM (Law of Moses) is a theocratic law and not one we have to keep in the US law courts or within church laws.

———————————-

57” There is no record that God has ever removed His blessing or sanctification from the Seventh day. “

True God did not ‘un-bless’ the Sabbath. But still no Commandments to keep it for Gentiles only those who are silly theonomists like you.

———————-

58 “As the Sabbath was kept in Eden before the fall, so it will be observed eternally in the new earth after the restitution. Isaiah 66:22, 23. “

See Isaiah 66:1-24. These prophecies will only happen when certain things happen in Israel. And this actually starts from Isaiah 58:1-14 till 66:1-24. I will only keep Sabbath because that is what Jesus asks me to do. Not your false prophetess.

———————-

59 “The seventh-day Sabbath was an important part of the law of God, as it came from His own mouth, and was written by His own finger upon stone at Sinai. See Exodus 20. When Jesus began His work, He expressly declared that He had not come to destroy the law. “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets.” Matthew 5:17. “

Why did you leave out “I am not come to destroy but to fulfill.” IF Jesus fulfilled the Law of Moses where is your Faith? In Jesus or EG White pal? Also Jesus told us what the most important parts of the Law of Moses.

See here:

Matthew 22:36-40

Mark 12:29-31

Luke 10:25-28

IF These are the Most Important Commandments from the Law of Moses and is backed up in Romans 13:8-10 then EG Whites teachings whom you follow are meaningless.

————————————————

60 “Jesus severely condemned the Pharisees as hypocrites for pretending to love God, while at the same time they made void one of the Ten Commandments by their tradition. The keeping of Sunday is only a tradition of men. “

I see. So in keeping EG Whites philosophy and false teachings you are ‘saved’ not according to our Lords Bible but meaningless philosophy. Your argument also means you prefer a Theocratic system over Jesus grace.

==============================

To Conclude:

What this author is doing is putting EG Whites ideas OVER the Bible because of her Theonomy teaching that has poisoned this well meaning man.

Some of you might ask how I know he is a SDA follower and agrees with her teachings because he lists them here elsewhere on his website:

Touch of Faith Ministry:

http://tofm.org/index.html

“(Examples of SDA) 28 FUNDAMENTAL BELIEFS  “

“Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as their only creed and hold certain fundamental beliefs to be the teaching of the Holy Scriptures. These beliefs, as set forth here, constitute the church’s understanding and expression of the teaching of Scripture. Revision of these statements may be expected at a General Conference session when the church is led by the Holy Spirit to a fuller understanding of Bible truth or finds better language in which to express the teachings of God’s Holy Word.”

“8. The Great Controversy: All humanity is now involved in a great controversy between Christ and Satan regarding the character of God, His law, and His sovereignty over the universe. This conflict originated in heaven when a created being, endowed with freedom of choice, in self-exaltation became Satan, God’s adversary, and led into rebellion a portion of the angels. He introduced the Spirit of rebellion into this world when he led Adam and Eve into sin. This human sin resulted in the distortion of the image of God in humanity, the disordering of the created world, and its eventual devastation at the time of the worldwide flood. Observed by the whole creation, this world became the arena of the universal conflict, out of which the God of love will ultimately be vindicated. To assist His people in this controversy, Christ sends the Holy Spirit and the loyal angels to guide, protect, and sustain them in the way of salvation. (Rev. 12:4-9; Isa. 14:12-14; Eze. 28:12-18; Gen. 3; Rom. 1:19-32; 5:12-21; 8:19-22; Gen. 6-8; 2 Peter 3:6; 1 Cor. 4:9; Heb. 1:14.)”

“18. The Gift of Prophecy: One of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is prophecy. This gift is an identifying mark of the remnant church and was manifested in the ministry of Ellen G. White . As the Lord’s messenger, her writings are a continuing and authoritative source of truth which provide for the church comfort, guidance, instruction, and correction. They also make clear that the Bible is the standard by which all teaching and experience must be tested. (Joel 2:28, 29; Acts 2:14-21; Heb. 1:1-3; Rev. 12:17; 19:10.)”

“19. The Law of God: The great principles of God’s law are embodied in the Ten Commandments and exemplified in the life of Christ. They express God’s love, will, and purposes concerning human conduct and relationships and are binding upon all people in every age. These precepts are the basis of God’s covenant with His people and the standard in God’s judgment. Through the agency of the Holy Spirit they point out sin and awaken a sense of need for a Saviour. Salvation is all of grace and not of works, but its fruitage is obedience to the Commandments. This obedience develops Christian character and results in a sense of well-being. It is an evidence of our love for the Lord and our concern for our fellow men. The obedience of faith demonstrates the power of Christ to transform lives, and therefore strengthens Christian witness. (Ex. 20:1-17; Ps. 40:7, 8; Matt. 22:36-40; Deut. 28:1-14; Matt. 5:17-20; Heb. 8:8-10; John 15:7-10; Eph. 2:8-10; 1 John 5:3; Rom. 8:3, 4; Ps. 19:7-14.)”

“20. The Sabbath: The beneficent Creator, after the six days of Creation, rested on the seventh day and instituted the Sabbath for all people as a memorial of Creation. The fourth commandment of God’s unchangeable law requires the observance of this seventh-day Sabbath as the day of rest, worship, and ministry in harmony with the teaching and practice of Jesus, the Lord of the Sabbath. The Sabbath is a day of delightful communion with God and one another. It is a symbol of our redemption in Christ, a sign of our sanctification, a token of our allegiance, and a foretaste of our eternal future in God’s kingdom. The Sabbath is God’s perpetual sign of His eternal covenant between Him and His people. Joyful observance of this holy time from evening to evening, sunset to sunset, is a celebration of God’s creative and redemptive acts. (Gen. 2:1-3; Ex. 20:8-11; Luke 4:16; Isa. 56:5, 6; 58:13, 14; Matt. 12:1-12; Ex. 31:13-17; Eze. 20:12, 20; Deut. 5:12-15; Heb. 4:1-11; Lev. 23:32; Mark 1:32.)”

“24. Christ’s Ministry in the Heavenly Sanctuary: There is a sanctuary in heaven, the true tabernacle which the Lord set up and not man. In it Christ ministers on our behalf, making available to believers the benefits of His atoning sacrifice offered once for all on the cross. He was inaugurated as our great High Priest and began His intercessory ministry at the time of His ascension. In 1844, at the end of the prophetic period of 2300 days, He entered the second and last phase of His atoning ministry. It is a work of investigative judgment which is part of the ultimate disposition of all sin, typified by the cleansing of the ancient Hebrew sanctuary on the Day of Atonement. In that typical service the sanctuary was cleansed with the blood of animal sacrifices, but the heavenly things are purified with the perfect sacrifice of the blood of Jesus. The investigative judgment reveals to heavenly intelligences who among the dead are asleep in Christ and therefore, in Him, are deemed worthy to have part in the first resurrection. It also makes manifest who among the living are abiding in Christ, keeping the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, and in Him, therefore, are ready for translation into His everlasting kingdom. This judgment vindicates the justice of God in saving those who believe in Jesus. It declares that those who have remained loyal to God shall receive the kingdom. The completion of this ministry of Christ will mark the close of human probation before the Second Advent. (Heb. 8:1-5; 4:14-16; 9:11-28; 10:19-22; 1:3; 2:16, 17; Dan. 7:9-27; 8:13, 14; 9:24-27; Num. 14:34; Eze. 4:6; Lev. 16; Rev. 14:6, 7; 20:12; 14:12; 22:12.) “

“25. The Second Coming of Christ: The second coming of Christ is the blessed hope of the church, the grand climax of the gospel. The Saviour’s coming will be literal, personal, visible, and worldwide. When He returns, the righteous dead will be resurrected, and together with the righteous living will be glorified and taken to heaven, but the unrighteous will die. The almost complete fulfillment of most lines of prophecy, together with the present condition of the world, indicates that Christ’s coming is imminent. The time of that event has not been revealed, and we are therefore exhorted to be ready at all times. (Titus 2:13; Heb. 9:28; John 14:1-3; Acts 1:9-11; Matt. 24:14; Rev. 1:7; Matt. 24:43, 44; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; 1 Cor. 15:51-54; 2 Thess. 1:7-10; 2:8; Rev. 14:14-20; 19:11-21; Matt. 24; Mark 13; Luke 21; 2 Tim. 3:1-5; 1 Thess. 5:1-6.)”

==========================

As we have seen this SDA author lists a lot of Old Testament / Torah Scriptures. This means they follow a Theonomist philosophy and ignore other portions of Christian Scripture that counters their “Ten Commandment following” claims.

As I have shown through correcting the so called 60 ‘facts’ of this article we can see that the SDA author is not interested in TRUE FACTS but their own Theonomy opinion and philosophy.

Has this author proven his ‘case’ for keeping Saturday Sabbath? Not Biblically he has not. He has simply thrown out his unwanted opinion in the debate and as amateurish as I am… I attempted to correct his so called ‘facts’..
