Do I tempt God or reject richard rives teaching?

Rives sent forth another mass email with the following.

“They That Tempt God by Richard Rives”

06-04-2013

“The Book of Malachi speaks of a time when people will believe that it is in vain to serve God, questioning the profitability of keeping our Creator’s ordinance, in other words, the profitability of keeping charge over the responsibilities we have been given, the profitability of accepting responsibility as servants and watchmen.”

” We are told that the proud will be called happy; that the wicked will be built up, and it will seem that even those who tempt God are delivered, that somehow they have escaped judgment.”

” Today we are living in that time. Biblical precepts are challenged on every front, as Satan, the god of this world, blesses the efforts of those who would lead people away from the commandments of our Creator – from the very definition and knowledge of sin.”

” The New Testament Book of 1 John defines sin as the transgression of the law, and the Book of Romans tells us that the commandments were given so that all the world may become guilty before God; yet today, as the Ten Commandments are being removed from our schools and public buildings there is little sense of guilt, no fear, and therefore the sense that there is little need for a Savior. ”

” Even in our churches it is rare to find those commandments posted; for in most of them, those attending are told that they were nailed to the cross – that believers are free from the law.”

” The truth is that no one is free from the laws or our Creator, including believers. We are free only from the law of sin and death. God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God – hatred against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.”

” Are the Ten Commandments posted in your church?”

Now… It seems to me that rives is trying his hand at regurgitating eg whites philosophy from the book the ‘great controversy’. Just how are Christians to keep the Ten Commandments? Where in the Scriptures we are to follow such a concept?

I have posted multiple teachings that counter rives theonomy & judaizing.

rives attempted quotes from Malachi 3:1-18. Now who was Malachi writting to? Israel of course. If you don’t believe me feel free to find Malachi in your Bible and read the 4 chapters of it.

So as usual rives mis-quotes from the old testament in order to force an application to the modern Christian church. This is a typical tactic / attack by those who who has unBiblical philosophy as their teaching.

And in keeping with his utter lack of Biblical education he enlists the aid of the following Scriptures to prove his idiotic philosophy some how Biblical.

1 John 5:1-21

Romans 2:1-29

However if you read up on the subject it is obvious that such ideas backfire on rives & his followers.

Examples:

Romans 3:1-31

Romans 5:1-21

Romans 7:1-25

Romans 13:1-14

Etc…

No my friends I am not tempting God nor rejecting Him. I am following Jesus Commandments in the Gospels. While rives… He follows a foolish philosophy.
