My response to rives “Tradition of Elders or Commandments of God”

In rives previous April mass email he says:

“Tradition of Elders or Commandments of God”

“by Richard Rives”

“In Matthew chapter 15, we find the scribes and Pharisees questioning Jesus, as to why the disciples transgressed the tradition of the elders. He answered by asking His own question: “Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?””

“The very same thing is going on today. Many Christians question why some of us do not recognize the aspects of contemporary Christianity such as Christmas or Easter. “

“They question why we do not observe Sunday as a special day of rest. “

“The answer to those questions is very simple. Those things never had anything to do with Christ. They are pagan traditions in violation of our Creator’s commandments that were gradually developed over the past two thousand years.”

“For those who criticize some of us because we do not accept those traditions, I believe that the question Jesus asked is as valid today as it was 2000 years ago: Why do you transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?”

“Earnestly contending for the faith once delivered to the saints; I’m Richard Rives with Just the Facts.”

Actually rives its even more simple than that…

Let’s use bullet points to answer this moral Theonomist.

1 Gods law in the Law of Moses is 613 Commandments. This means that Richard rives and others who follow his philosophy are in reality law breakers because he only keeps the first ten but ignores the rest of the Law of Moses.

2 The Law of Moses is a theocratic law forIsrael. Richard rives lives here in theUSAand we donot recognize such a law since we have a democratic / liberal government.

3 Jesus the reason for Christianity was not a Theonomist. His teachings used the Law of Moses but created a new morality out of it. This means that rives should be following Christ instead of his philosophy.

4 By keeping the first Ten of the Commandments from God / Moses rives and his followers should also be using the punishments described in the torah for breaking ANY of the ten commandments or the rest of the Law of Moses

5 In my blog I have discussed about the ‘whys’ we keep Sunday and to some degree the ‘whys’ we keep Easter and Christmas. Rives and his Judaizing / Theonomist ilk can keep their particular days & reject Easter & Christmas. But are in the wrong for creating these un-necessary issues against Protestant Christianity.

No rives & his Judaizers are not keeping the Law of Moses but his man made philosophy that doesn’t come from God but his own twisted mind.
