“Reprove Not A Scorner Lest He Hate Thee”

“Today in a world of tolerance: The question arises: should the truth be spoken whether it is pleasing or not; or should truths be withheld because they are unpopular?”

” Well, I believe that it is always our responsibility to speak the truth, in a kind way, to those who are interested. As the Book of 1 Peter relates: We should be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh us a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Even so, what we receive in return depends on who we are talking to.”

” Here’s what scripture has to say: “He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot. Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee. Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”

” Earnestly contending for the faith once delivered to the saints; I’m Richard Rives with Just the Facts.”

So the ‘truth’ according to rives is a combination of Judaizing and Theonomy. But what does the Bible say about his teachings?

Romans 13:8-10

Galatians 1:8-9, 2:16-21, 3:10-14, 5:1-18

Colossians 2:8

1 Timothy 1:3-11

Titus 1:10-16, 3:9-11

As we can read from the Bible rives teachings do not agree with both the teachings of Jesus and the Disciples.

It is not Biblical wisdom rives ‘dishes out’ it is only his philosophy that he claims is ‘truth’.

Because rives people asked me to ‘research’ him I am not so much a scorner but a skeptic and investigator of rives claims. Nothing he has posted on his websites or sent out in his emails has matched what we have in the WORD and while he blasts Christian culture his own teachings seem to indicate that he is becoming less Christian as he attempts to destroy Christianity and replace it with his vain philosophy.
